MRS. PEGGY DUNN
LIVE FROM THE S.A.I.N.T.S. IT'S THE MORNING NEWS!
This has been my
tenth year teaching TV production (1995-2003, 2007) and a lot
has changed over the years. When I started the TV studio it
consisted of a donated VHS camera and a makeshift teleprompter
in the back closet of the Media Center. Over the years things
have changed a lot. Now the studio is full-sized and the daily
news show runs from three cameras into a mixer where audio and
video can be added. We have Imac computers with dvd burners and
Sony 40gb hard disc drive cameras that make storing and
retrieving projects much simpler. A new software program I am
hoping to use by Adobe called Visual Communicator is making the
look of the news more professional. The more things change the
more they stay the same. The students' enthusiasm and interest
in being a part of the medium they have grown up watching is a
constant. It is an exciting time to be a student and a teacher.
Have a wonderful
summer.
Mrs. Dunn
THIS JUST IN......All Middle
School students have one quarter of TV Production during their
co-curricular rotation. That means that they will have the
opportunity to learn TV production skills that include using
video equipment (cameras, mixers, computer software), creating
projects, and applying for Morning News duty. Our morning news
is a schoolwide closed circuit daily broadcast from 8 to 8:05.
Middle school students anchor the news which includes
recognizing student birthdays, school lunch, the weather, school
sports, and features stories. Features are produced by the
3 TV Production classes and include school happenings, current
events, or interviews with guest visitors.
Special thanks to the Patrons of
the Arts who this year purchased 2 Apple imac computers and 4
sony handycams, which
will be used by the students in TV Production.
Parents with TV Production experience - please
contact Mrs. Dunn at
pdunn@standrewcs.org if you have time to volunteer!
