Art

Welcome to the Art Studio!

We're off to a fantastic start with all the fabulous students here at

St. Andrew Catholic School!

The first half of the year, primary grades will be practicing basic skills and knowledge. During the second half of the year, we really take off and start using our knowledge to be super creative!

Middle School students start the year off running as we jump right into our projects.

Dear Parents,

Since Art and Music are very closely related I explain classroom expectations through a musical perspective.

A Conductor is the person responsible for the conduct or actions/sounds of his musicians.  Similarly, children are their own Conductors.  They are responsible for their own actions, words, and overall conduct.

In the Art Room

                 We Conduct Ourselves . . .

. . . with a Positive Attitude, ready to begin each class quietly and attentively.

. . . to be Respectful and Considerate of those around us.

. . . to Give Our Best Effort and participate in all projects.

. . . to be Responsible for our work space and Share supplies, ideas, and cleanup.

. . . with Safety Always in mind and a respect for tools and materials.

This is a prayer that we have hanging in the art room that we say every day in 4th and 5th grade classes.  You might like to use this with your children at home when beginning a special project.

               Lord,

              You are the First Artist

                 and the

                   Master Craftsman

                     of all

                       that is good.

              May you guide

                our Hearts,

                our Hands,

                and our Imaginations,

as we create on this day

                     which You  have made.

                                    Amen!
