EcoPhones actively supports the
protection of the environment by
pioneering the large scale recycling
of America’s cellular waste.
Cellular phones contain toxic
materials such as lead and cadmium,
which while harmless during the
usable life of a phone, become
hazardous to our soil, air and water
supply when disposed of improperly.
In addition to toxic metals,
wireless phones contain flame
retardant plastics, precious metals,
glass and other materials. All of
these materials are reclaimed for
reuse in other applications, and any
remaining hazardous waste is
disposed of through a certified
environmental waste disposal
facility.
Depending on the material involved,
EcoPhones works with a variety of
recycling partners to recycle the
material that cannot be reused.
These partners meet stringent
requirements with respect to the
disposal of this material and
provide us with Certificates of
Destruction for the material we send
to them |
