LOVE
AND LOGIC PARENTING WORKSHOP
What is Love and Logic?
Love and Logic is a philosophy of raising and teaching
children which allows adults to be happier, empowered,
and more skilled in the interactions with children. Love
allows children to grow through their mistakes. Logic
allows children to live with the consequences of their
choices. Love and Logic is a way of working with
children that puts parents and teachers back in control,
teaches children to be responsible, and prepares young
people to live in the real world, with its many choices
and consequences.
Who can benefit from
Love and Logic?
Almost everyone can benefit from the Love and Logic
approach. The Love and Logic products especially help
parents and teachers enjoy working with children through
easy-to-use techniques. The Love and Logic approach
helps children develop and grow in a healthy way,
provides them with confidence and dignity, and teaches
them how to become more responsible. The possibilities
are limitless.
How is Love and Logic
different from other approaches?
Love and Logic offers
adults an alternative way to communicate with children.
The Love and Logic techniques produce immediate results
because the techniques are simple, practical, and easy
to learn. The concepts behind Love and Logic place a
heavy emphasis on respect and dignity for children and
at the same time allows adults to grasp simple
approaches instead of learning difficult counseling
procedures.
The Love and Logic
Parent Sessions unlock the secrets of successful
parenting. Participants learn the specific "how-to's" of
successful parenting, not just theoretical concepts.
Sessions are facilitated by St. Andrew staff members.
This comprehensive training program provides:

Instructional videocassettes featuring humorous and
thought-provoking instruction with master teachers Jim
Fay, Charles Fay, PhD, and Foster W. Cline, M.D.

Parent
Workbooks for use in class as well as at home to help
practice new techniques learned.

other resources to order (videocassettes, audiocassettes

Connections to other parents who have completed the
course—good for encouragement, support, ideas, and help
with strategic planning!
All school families are
being asked to take this parenting course sometime
before their child enters Grade 3.
Since the L&L philosophy and approach are used at
school, it is essential that parents understand and
cooperate with this approach. The benefits to the child
when home and school are using the same approach are
significant. (School families get a 50% discount and the
time spent in the Love and Logic sessions can be counted
as parent service hours—2 hours per session!)

Payment: 25$ each session for an
individual or 40$ for a couple. Families with a child
enrolled in St. Andrew School receive a 50% discount
($12.50 individual; $20 a couple). Register by

below to the school office. Payment can be made with
the registration or at the first class.

RAINBOWS PROGRAM: We will be offering Rainbows
program for the school year 2007/2008 starting
September. The days and times the rainbow groups
meet each week will vary depending on availability of
the rainbow facilitators. A notice will be going
home and/or posted in the weekly newsletter prior to the
start of the sessions. (See webpage for details).
