Extra-Curricular

St. Andrew Stars Choir – Chorus is an opportunity for the children to sing and share their music in church, in school, and in the community, performing both sacred and secular music. Students in grades 3-5 are welcome to participate.

Wee Deliver – This program is the school’s internal postal system through which the third grade students deliver mail from staff and students to others within the school.

National Junior Honor Society (N.J.H.S.) – St. Andrew has a chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. Middle school students may apply for membership: eligibility is based on academic excellence, demonstrated leadership, and service. This group provides leadership in a variety of ways, particularly by promoting the ideals of the society.

Sports – Boys and girls in grades 5 through 8 are invited to go out for soccer, basketball, volleyball, and golf. St. Andrew JV (gr. 5/6) and Varsity (gr. 7/8) teams play other local private schools.

Future Educators of America (F.E.A.) – The Future Educators of America is a national organization with a chapter at St. Andrew. Student members between grades 5 and 8 may request membership. In addition to assisting teachers, the F.E.A. promotes and provides service projects in both the school and community.

Environmental Club – Students from Kindergarten through 5th grade learn about environmentally-friendly gardening and recycling practices. Club members assist in maintaining our schoolyard habitat. This organization also maintains the school-wide recycling program.

Science Fairs – The top among middle school student projects participate in the Thomas Alva Edison Kiwanis Science and Engineering Fair, Junior Division. These entries may then be eligible to go on to the regional and state science fairs. An “entry-optional” school science fair is offered to elementary students also.

Odyssey of the Mind – O.M. is a national program which incorporates teamwork, creativity, problem-solving, and a multi-leveled approach to learning, with the help of parent moderators. St. Andrew sponsors multiple O.M. teams.

Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts – St. Andrew Parish sponsors several scout troops for girls and boys from grades 1 through 8.

Drama – The Drama Club incorporates all the elements of acting and play production for students in grades 3 through 8. These students are typically involved the Christmas nativity presentation for school families as well as a play later in Spring.

Talent Show – This production is variety show specifically prepared for presentation at the Annual St. Andrew Festival. Students from all grade levels are invited to participate.
